Arvato to talk digital inclusion at Sefton Council summit

Gordon Dalgleish, head of IT solutions, for our Public Sector and Contact Centres business will be discussing how to help more citizens interact with online public services at today’s Digital Inclusion Summit, led by Sefton Council.

The conference, taking place in Crosby, will bring together leading tech experts from across the public and private sector to discuss how to improve digital inclusion across the region, and how the council and its partners can work together to make a real difference for citizens.

Gordon’s talk will touch on online behaviours before looking at where improvements can be made in both front and back-office services to encourage more people to access council services across digital channels. This will include a discussion about channel shift, customer care on social media channels, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and also cyber security and resilience.

Cabinet member Councillor Paulette Lappin and Sarah Kemp, executive director at Sefton Council will be attending, together with representatives from Vodafone, Barclays and a number of other local councils.

Gordon commented: “There is plenty of great work going on across the public sector to help citizens get online to access the services they need, but digital exclusion still remains a big issue. We need to equip our citizens with both the skills and trust to interact with the council online, as well as making sure the technology is in place to ensure services are simple to use and that information is kept safe.”
