Our partnership with Chesterfield Borough Council has been shortlisted for the Large Employer of the Year category at the North Midlands and South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards.
The awards, which will take place at the Showroom Workstation in Sheffield on Thursday 15th May, recognise the hard work and success of the region’s apprentices and the businesses that employ them.
The Chesterfield scheme is one of several apprenticeship programmes which we operate across our local government partnerships. The schemes ensure that the right talent is developed to help our public sector partners tackle the skills challenges they will face in the years ahead.
More than 70 young people have completed our apprenticeship programme in Chesterfield since 2010, which consists of a 12 or 18-month NVQ level two qualification in business administration, customer service and ICT and a range of vocational placements across the partnership.
On average, 70 per cent of our trainees go on to full-time roles with the business, with a further two-thirds being promoted within 12 months. Our apprentice retention rate across the UK is 47 per cent, which far exceeds the national average of 23 per cent.
Peter Schriewersmann, Key Account Director, CRM Solutions, Arvato UK & Ireland, commented: “We take training our apprentices very seriously and believe it’s essential to give the next generation of talent the practical experience they need to grow professionally.
“Being shortlisted for this award is testament to the hard work of all our apprentices and their managers in Chesterfield. Recruiting young people and preparing them for the world of work is just one of the ways we give back to the communities we operate in.”
We deliver a range of key services for Chesterfield Borough Council including customer service, revenues and benefits, human resources, payroll and invoice processing and ICT.
