On Sunday 23rd September, Arvato’s Transition Manager Nicola Hogan, abseiled 100ft down the historical John Radcliffe Hospital to raise money for the Oxford Hospital charity, in loving memory of her mum.
The charity helps to raise funds for the very latest medical equipment and training, and innovative research. Donations also transform the hospital environment for their patients and dedicated staff – making wards and hospital spaces more welcoming and comfortable.
Nicola has been inspired to give something back to the hospital which has done so much for her family. Her mum sadly passed away at the end of last October following an unexpected stroke, and her father is currently being cared for by the Trust since being diagnosed with cancer.
Nicola has been in awe of the hospital, for the way the doctors and nurses have treated her parents and is taking on this challenge as a way to show her gratitude. She has already raised over £450 and hopes that she is able to inspire others to raise money for a charity close to their hearts too.
”After my recent visit to the hospital, it made me realise how much I owe them for the last 25 years of care they have provided for my parents and even my daughter, who was in and out of hospital through the early stages of her life. It feels great to finally be able to give something back to such a caring and skilled team of doctors and nurses!”
