Arvato will be sponsoring the inaugural East Midlands Local Authority challenge, taking place at Donington Park Race Track on the 24th November.
The event offers aspiring local government managers the opportunity to gain exposure to issues outside of their normal job roles and gives them a taste of what senior management is like.
The delegates will spend the day as the management team of a fictional local authority, encountering many of the tasks that a real corporate team would deal with. Teams will have to work collaboratively with neighbouring councils and partner organisations to deliver a new strategy for the council. This will involve choosing which areas to prioritise and dealing with politically sensitive issues, while maintaining a focus on delivering high quality citizen services with limited resources.
Arvato will be supporting the overall event, providing expert advice about solutions that can help transform back office services, as well sponsoring the awards ceremony and dinner at the end of the night.
Debbie Nolan, Business Development Director, CRM Solutions, Arvato UK & Ireland said: “The challenge for councils is that budget cuts and citizens’ demands are only going to increase and the pace of change in the sector shows no sign of slowing down. Our back office transformation expertise and work within our local authority partnerships means that we are well placed provide advice and support to help public sector organisations adapt to these changes.”
“We are proud to be supporting the first East Midlands Local Authority Challenge which allows council delegates to gain practical insight into joint working, develop ways of managing financial constraints, think about their own transformation agenda and develop innovative ideas to tackle their challenges.”
