Arvato is proud to be sponsoring Bootle SOUP’s second crowdfunding event of the year.
The initiative which aims to support social and community enterprise projects in and around Sefton is run by the Social Enterprise Network (SEN), with the October event being sponsored by both Arvato and local college Hugh Baird.
The SOUP brings together budding social entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas on tackling social and community issues and compete for funding in the form of a small grant.
The event, which will take place on Thursday 20th October from 17:30 to 20:00 at North Perk Café, stems from the recent success of the inaugural Boole SOUP which was launched in July this year. This event raised £620, with Crafternoon who provide craft afternoons for members of the local community being announced as the winner.
The concept is simple. A recommended £10 donation gives the public entry to the event and a bowl of soup and bread. All profits from ticket sales, as well as Arvato and Hugh Baird sponsorship, are then invested in the concept which receives the most votes from attendees on the evening.
Peter Schriewersmann, Key Account Director for our partnership with Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council, said: “We are proud to be providing ongoing support for this great local initiative. Giving back to the communities in which we serve is a key part of delivering success across our local government partnerships. We look forward to hearing about new enterprise projects and getting some more bright ideas off the ground.”
Bootle SOUP joins a list of community causes that Arvato is supporting in the local area. This includes a joint apprenticeship programme with the council which is aimed at providing local, young people with opportunities to study for nationally recognised NVQ qualifications in ICT and business administration.
In addition, Arvato works closely with the Prince’s Trust to help disadvantaged young people get onto the career ladder, delivers employability courses to pupils at local colleges and supports Sefton Active Workforce – a health and wellbeing initiative.
