Arvato is proud to sponsor the first ever Bootle SOUP, an initiative which aims to support social and community enterprise projects in and around Sefton.
Organised by the Social Enterprise Network (SEN), the SOUP gathering will bring together budding social entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas on tackling social and community issues and compete for funding in the form of a small grant.
The inaugural Bootle event, which will take place on Thursday 14th July from 17:30 to 20:30 at North Perk Café, stems from the recent success of Liverpool SOUP which launched last year as an alternative community crowdfunding initiative for the city region.
The concept is simple. A recommended £10 donation gives the public entry to the event and a bowl of soup and bread. All profits from ticket sales,as well as Arvato’s sponsorship, are then invested in the concept which receives the most votes from attendees on the evening.
Peter Schriewersmann, key account director for our partnership with Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council, said: “A key element to delivering success across our local government partnerships lies in making a difference in the communities we serve. The SOUP movement is a fantastic local initiative and we look forward to supporting the event get some bright ideas off the ground.”
Bootle SOUP joins a list of community causes that Arvato is supporting in the local area. This includes a joint apprenticeship programme with the council which is aimed at providing local, young people with opportunities to study for nationally recognised NVQ qualifications in ICT and business administration.
In addition, Arvato works closely with the Prince’s Trust to help disadvantaged young people get onto the career ladder, delivers employability courses to pupils at local colleges, such as Hugh Baird College in Bootle, and supports Sefton Active Workforce – a health and wellbeing initiative.
