Arvato and Summerhill Pavilion & Gardens Trust work together during UK Charity Week on a restoration project

We’re proud to have worked with Newcastle’s Summerhill Pavilion & Gardens Trust during one of the most charitable weeks in the UK – with an aim to ignite community spirit amongst those in and around Newcastle.

Located in a historic Georgian Square, just a stone’s throw from Newcastle city centre, Summerhill Pavilion and Gardens Trust is the home of Summerhill Bowling Club, a venue with over a hundred years of history. It is maintained and developed as a community resource by the Summerhill Trust charity and is funded through donations, subscriptions, grants, and site hire.

As part of our commitment to being socially conscious and providing a positive social impact, all our employees are given a Charity Day each year to use volunteering or fundraising for a charity or community initiative of their choice.

On Wednesday 7th December 2022, our Sales, Solutions and Marketing Team got wrapped up to volunteer for the Trust to provide restoration support in the grounds of the bowling club. Some of the jobs on the day included painting steps, cleaning, painting and varnishing wooden seats, and painting the main entrance sign, which greets visitors as they enter the grounds. All to restore the Summerhill Bowling Club with a fresh and brighter look for those who use the site, for things such as music practice, exercise classes and community events. This was a well-needed restoration exercise after damages caused by a storm.

David Morton, Sales and Solutions Director, Arvato CRM Solutions said:

We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Summerhill Pavilion & Gardens Trust and offer a helping hand with reviving areas of the property. Although they were small jobs individually, collectively, they have helped refresh the entrance of the building and will help prepare the site for winter and the cold weather snap.
Not only did it feel good supporting the local community, where our Department of Education partnership is based, it was great to get outdoors and away from the office/home office and work as a team to add value outside of the workplace. As a business, we’re committed to being a socially conscious employer and look forward to further volunteering experiences like this in the future.

We know how important it is to do your bit for charity, which is why we offer our employees a Charity Day each year to use for fundraising or volunteering for a local or national cause. It’s a great opportunity for Arvato and its employees to support the areas where we are located and ‘give back’ to the local community – whether that’s by sharing expertise, offering a helping hand or raising money for a worthy cause.
