Arvato has won an ‘Employer of the Year’ accolade at this year’s Asian Apprentice Awards, with two of the company’s young apprentices also named as finalists.

The business scooped the award in the Finance, Legal and Professional Services category, seeing off stiff competition from Lloyds Banking Group, Investec and EY to cement its place among the best in the industry for supporting young people from BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) communities in starting their careers.

The annual event, which is now in its fourth year, took place in Birmingham on Thursday 31st October 2019 and aims to celebrate and showcase the achievements of British Asian apprentices and the companies that employ and train them.

Vikas Khan was a finalist for the Finance, Legal and Professional Services Apprentice of the Year category, with Aleena Khan shortlisted for the Judges Choice Apprentice of the Year award.

The success follows Vikas winning the 2018 South West Intermediate Apprenticeship of the Year in the regional finals of the National Apprenticeship Awards.

Sally Neale, HR Director, Arvato CRM Solutions, said, “Diversity and inclusion sit at the very heart of our company ethos and we’re proud of the success our programme is delivering for the communities we work in, helping young people develop invaluable skills they need to build their careers.

“We take the responsibility for supporting youth employment very seriously and it’s wonderful to see Aleena and Vikas recognised for their skill and commitment.”

The business currently has a retention rate of 88.2 per cent for its apprenticeship programme and 144 entry level trainees have joined the scheme since it started in 2012. Out of the first five apprentices that have progressed to end-point assessment stage, 80 per cent achieved distinctions, demonstrating the dedication of the company’s managers who support programme.
