Arvato has partnered with the New Local Government Network (NLGN) to host a roundtable focused on how the introduction of new technologies will impact the future local government workforce.
Public sector leaders will get together to discuss the challenges and opportunities that new technologies, such as robotic process automation (RPA), present for councils today, including:
- How councils can ensure that their workforce feels empowered, and not displaced, by change.
- How technological innovation is changing the way councils provide services.
- The obstacles preventing councils and workers from adopting new technological advances.
Steve Skelton, Head of Policy, Performance & Reform, Stockton MBC, will deliver one of the key note speeches, with further speakers to be announced. The roundtable will take place at London’s Thistle Trafalgar Square hotel on Tuesday, 22ndNovember, from 12.00 to 2.00pm.
John Wybrant, Key Account Director, CRM Solutions UK & Ireland, Arvato, commented: “As the pressure on budgets and public services grows, the public sector is increasingly looking to technological innovation to change the way they work. RPA is set to play a significant role – our recent research found that 53 per cent of senior public sector decision makers have explored trialling the technology over the last 12 months.
“While such new innovations can increase efficiency levels, councils will need to navigate the barriers to adoption and understand the potential impact. Taking a proactive approach to introducing new technologies such as RPA with transparent and frequent communications to both employees and citizens, will be key to ensuring councils can really reap the benefits.”
