arvato distributes Terry Venables World Cup single

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Hundreds of stores across the UK and Ireland will receive their deliveries of former England manager Terry Venables' World Cup single 'If I Can Dream' this week (7 June 2010) thanks to arvato - the UK's biggest entertainment logistics and distribution company.

The track, produced in association with The Sun Newspaper, was recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the Sun's 'Maybe, Just Maybe' World Cup television adverts in April and has been released as a single after a campaign by the newspaper's readers.

To launch the single, Venables - along with a 14-piece band - performed the song on top of the 02 arena, more than 50 metres above London last month.

Proceeds from the single, which is available both in shops and as a download from today (Monday, June 7), will go to charities Help for Heroes and Malaria No More UK.

Markus Schmuecker, Managing Director of arvato supply chain management UK, said: "This is the latest in a string of high-profile projects we have worked on with Sony Music, the most recent of which was Simon Cowell's Haiti fundraising single 'Everybody Hurts' - the UK's biggest selling charity record of the 21st century."
