Rainer Majcen

Rainer has overall responsibility for all arvato’s public sector clients, and oversees the negotiation and implementation of complex public-private partnership contracts.  He leads the continued growth and performance of this area of business in the UK.

Since 2005, Rainer has developed arvato’s public sector business in the UK into one of the fastest growing outsourcing organisations in the industry and into arvato’s best practice business model for its public sector outsourcing strategy worldwide.

He has negotiated and implemented large-scale public-private partnership BPO contracts for East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council that together have a combined value of £400m and employ in excess of 1,000 staff. He also led the bid for and secured a third partnership agreement with Chesterfield Borough Council during 2010.

As part of the contracts, he has successfully overseen the seamless integration of public services into arvato and handled complex TUPE transfers for council employees joining the company.

Prior to his current MD position, Rainer was in charge of strategic and business development for arvato’s public sector outsourcing business unit in the UK. He has also occupied senior management posts with Bertelsmann Financial Services and was Director of Business Development & Marketing for i-Escrow Europe.

Rainer is a past student of economics at the University of Witten Herdecke in Germany. He is a keen mountaineer and lives with his family in East Yorkshire.
